Nawezaa Media

  • Location: Nairobi, Kenya
  • Mission: Supporting the engagement of refugees and locals by providing a media platform for them to engage, co-exist & collaborate in pursuit of nurturing their ideas/initiatives and instilling a belief of possibilities, Nawezaa, I can!
  • What they do: Media, Mentorship, and Technology – Nawezaa as a social enterprise – has services and programs. The services are models of self-sustaining which are avenues to generate income and include social media marketing, graphic design, animation, photography and videography, and web development, on the flip side of the community impact there are nawezaa programs which include mentor-me (mentorship), digital literacy, interviews/documentaries, refugee-led conversations and the RUIS ( Refugees United In Sports ).

A project that GRYN is Funding: Refugees United In Sport (RUIS) Initiative Sports for refugees has almost been abandoned as compared to locals, a lot of refugees are filled with enormous talents in sporting activities like football but most of this has ended up sinking due to poor or no support from the local government or any refugee organization and poor Advocacy for refugee sports. There are no successful refugee sports initiatives or teams in Kenya currently and this is a gap that is not narrowing.
